Employee Spotlight: Talia Redman
August 05, 2014
Talia has been part of the Marick Group crew since 2013. We like to call her our Instructional Design Heroine. As an instructional designer, she’s responsible for creating the customized learning experiences that Marick Group implements and our clients enjoy.
Talia’s path to the instructional design world is an interesting one. After majoring in Architecture and Civil Engineering at Lehigh University, she took a graphic design job after graduation, with the plan of returning to grad school for Historic Restoration. But a friend who was studying Instructional Design and Development at Lehigh suggested she check out the program, which would allow her to merge her passions of architecture and design. She was hooked, and earned her Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Development.
Following grad school, Talia worked in the financial services field, providing expertise in online and simulation development. She then worked for five years in the defense industry in the areas of instructional design, development and LMS administration. Today, her Marick workload keeps her busy with a variety of federal government and commercial clients.
Joining the Marick team was a no-brainer for Talia. After working alongside several Marick employees on a 2012 project, she quickly realized they were a special gang – talented, motivated and highly engaged with their clients and fellow colleagues. When the opportunity came to join the team, she didn’t pass it up.
The big changes that have come to the learning and talent management worlds the past few years are no match for Talia and the rest of Marick Group. She knows their team is the best partner to have when it comes to implementing a learning or talent management solution.
“We’re engaged, high-performance individuals, and that’s what clients are looking for these days. When they partner with Marick Group, they’re working with a team that fits that criteria. Clients also want a partner who understands the latest trends in the industry – from mobile learning to internal content sharing and social networking. When they work with us, they get that invaluable expertise.”
When Talia takes a break from the wonderful world of Marick Group, she enjoys traveling, running marathons, and volunteering with organizations dedicated to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). She and her husband also recently welcomed a baby boy to the family…and she’s wondering why there isn’t a Learning Management System for newborn training.
